The sheathing mascara separates, defines and curls lashes with its clever ‘sheathing’ brush which curls lashes to enhance your eyes. Based on a very mild avocado oil, this mascara is perfectly adapted to sensitives eyes, making it also suitable for contact lens wearers. This mascara is perfect for definition due to its fluid and light formula. However, if you have a tendency to watery eyes, you may prefer the thicker texture of either the Definition Mascara or Aloe vera mascaras. Formulated without synthetic preservatives and with high quality raw materials, this mascara reduces the risk of redness and irritation to your eyes. Our mascara is now refillable to reduce waste.
Packaged in a unique, varnished bamboo case, Zao makeup is both a beautiful gift and an item to treasure. Existing customers, please note that we are phasing out our bamboo pouches that our products were packaged in (except glass bottle foundations and primers), in order to further reduce waste. These will be phased out as current stocks deplete, but they are now available here for purchase separately for gifting purposes.
A wand is included with all refills due to hygiene regulations, but please note that a lot of wildlife charities will take old mascara wands as they are extremely useful for removing things such as fly eggs and larva from the fur and feathers of animals.
Key ingredients:
Organic bamboo hydrosol: Derived from the distillation of bamboo leaves, it purifies combination and acne-prone skin by mattifying skin. Moisturising and soothing, it is also beneficial for dry and sensitive skin. Thanks to its high silica content, it leaves a soft touch to skin.
Acacia gum: Acacia gum or gum arabic is derived from the resin secreted by the Acacia Senegal tree. Used as an adhesive agent, it improves the staying power of Zao mascaras.
Bamboo powder: This white substance is extracted from the joints of bamboo. It’s high silica content remineralises, hydrates and helps regenerate skin, whilst reducing oil in combination or oily skin.
